French semi-finals of "Dream or Prophecy" speech contest (Jan 27, 2012)

On January 27, eleven university students shared their visions for Benin and Africa at the American Cultural Center in Cotonou during the French version of the semi-finals of the "Dream or Prophecy" speech contest.

A prominent lawyer, Mr. Luc Martin Hounkanrin was selected to serve as a role model advanced speaker. He shared his dream of having Benin adopt a new constitution mandating that the president could only serve for one term of five years.

A famous journalist and USG IVLP alumnus, Mr. Benjamin Honore Nahum, also served as an advanced speaker role model and shared his dream to see true freedom of the press practiced in Benin as he witnessed during his Edward Murrow exchange visit in the U.S. Six contestants were selected to compete in the finals of the Dream or Prophecy Speech contest scheduled for February 3.
