Embassy Hosts Public Speaking Workshop (July 19, 2012)

On July 19 the American Cultural Center hosted a workshop on public speaking  attended by approximately 200 students, young entrepreneurs, and professionals. In his welcoming remarks, Public Affairs Officer Douglas Johnston reiterated the U.S. Government’s commitment to providing Beninese youth with personal development tools. 

The workshop was led by Professor Desire Baloubi, Chair of the Humanities Department at Shaw University in North Carolina. His lectures and exercises helped audience members gain skills and build confidence to improve their public speaking, a skill which he explained can help with employment prospects and in meeting other goals.
