Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program (HHFP) is a non-degree program that brings accomplished mid-level professionals to the U.S. at mid-point in their careers for a year of study and related professional experiences. It provides broad, professional enrichment through a combination of activities tailored to each Fellow's interests. Fellowships are granted in the following fields:
- Law, civil society, human rights, democratic development
- Natural resources and environmental management
- Public policy analysis and public administration
- Public health policy and management
- Communication/journalism
- Drug abuse treatment, prevention and education
- Economic development
- Agricultural development/agricultural economics
- Human resource management/personnel
- Urban and regional planning
- Educational planning
- Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)
- Prevention and care for HIV/AIDS
- Trafficking in Persons
During their fellowship year, Humphrey Fellows participate in programs that combine academic course work with professional development activities.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree, five years of substantial professional experience, demonstrated leadership qualities, and fluency in English. TOEFL is mandatory with a minimum of 530 required. Applicants must be Beninese citizens, aged between 25 and 40 and, reside in Benin.
